Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about what Moovi is, who it is for, what it costs and how it runs.

What it is

What is Moovi?

Moovi is the operating platform for the removals industry. It is the single system a removals and storage business runs on, from the first enquiry through survey, quote, job, crew, warehouse, fleet compliance, customer communication and invoicing. It replaces the spreadsheets, paper, separate tools and WhatsApp groups most operators are forced to stitch together. Moovi was built by Sam Clark, who started on the vans and spent sixteen years in enterprise technology before building it.

Is Moovi a CRM?

No. Moovi is the operating platform for the removals industry. A CRM manages contacts and leads. Moovi runs the whole operation, from the first enquiry all the way through to the final invoice and review, on one connected system. Most removals software is a CRM with a few bolt-ons. Moovi is the system the business actually runs on.

How is Moovi different from other removals software?

Most removals software was built for one job, then had other features bolted on around it over the years. Moovi was built from the start as a single connected platform, so the same job record runs from enquiry to survey to quote to job to crew to warehouse to invoice without anything being re-keyed or lost between systems. It is also built and owned on enterprise-grade infrastructure rather than older hosted software. The difference an operator feels day to day is that everything is in one place and everything talks to everything else.

Who already uses Moovi?

Moovi is live in production with multiple removals and storage operators across two continents, the UK and Asia. Every Moovi customer is a multi-site operator, and they include multiple BAR members. Our founding customers include A.H. Tripp & Son, established 1867, operating across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Greater London; Easyshipping, established 2003; ReloSmart Movers, headquartered in Hong Kong and serving Hong Kong, mainland China and international destinations; and James Removals, established 1996, operating from Bromley across Greater London. You can read about them on the founding customers page.

Who is Moovi for?

Moovi is built for serious removals operators who want more control, more visibility and a better way to run their business. The strongest fit is established firms running five or more vans, often family-run, frequently with storage, and frequently BAR members, though BAR membership is not required. Smaller operators are served by Moovi Core, which gives a real operating platform without the full stack on day one. It is not built for the lowest-cost, cash-in-hand end of the market.

What does “operating platform” actually mean?

It means Moovi is the system your business runs on, not one tool among many. A point solution does one thing, a quote or a job sheet, and leaves the rest to other systems. An operating platform connects every part of the operation on one shared record, so the survey becomes the quote, the quote becomes the job, the job briefs the crew, the crew's work updates the warehouse and the customer, and it all ends in an invoice and a review, without leaving the platform.

What does it mean that Moovi is agentic?

Most software in this industry records your business: it stores what you did and files it after the fact. Moovi is agentic, which means it makes the operating decisions rather than just storing them. It allocates the crew, prices the job, catches the margin leaking out of a move, warns you before a compliance deadline costs you money, drafts your tender from your own data, and reconciles what you quoted against what you actually moved. Every other system records your business; Moovi runs it.

Product and capability

What is Move Radar?

Move Radar is Moovi's demand and market intelligence layer. It gives operators live move intelligence and market data across their area, and it lets them turn a property opportunity directly into a lead inside the platform or export the data for their own local marketing. We also work with lead providers and estate agents to feed live quote requests straight into Moovi. It is built for operators who are already paying for postcode data and lead access and want better, in one place.

Does Moovi do AI surveys?

Yes. Moovi's survey app turns a walk round a property, room by room, into a structured inventory and a ready quote. It is included in the platform and it is unlimited. There are no credits to count and no per-scan fees. An AI survey should be part of the platform, not something you ration or pay extra for every time you use it.

Does Moovi have a crew app?

Yes, and it is built for the real world the crew work in. The crew run the job from the app on the day, and it works fully offline, so it keeps working in a basement, a lift, a thick-walled house or anywhere with no signal, then syncs when it is back in range. Most field software assumes a good connection. Removals do not happen in places with good connections.

How does Moovi handle warehouse and storage?

Moovi gives operators storage tracked precisely enough to put your hand on one customer's items, with a mobile warehouse app for use on the floor. It covers storage, inventory, location, retrieval, billing and the evidence record. Where most systems treat storage as a list, Moovi treats it as a real picture of your warehouse, so the current location of every container and box sits on one record.

Does Moovi handle fleet and compliance?

Yes. Moovi brings fleet, driver, vehicle, risk and evidence into the same platform. That includes daily vehicle walkarounds, driver records, MOT and service reminders, tachograph-related workflows, risk assessments, document records and evidence capture. For professional operators running goods vehicles, compliance is not optional, and Moovi keeps the evidence trail in one place rather than scattered across folders and clipboards.

Is there a customer portal, and can customers pay and sign off through it?

Yes. The customer portal gives the customer a direct window into their move: their quote, the scheduled details, their invoice balance, payments, messages and digital sign-off. The review request is built into job completion rather than being an afterthought. It keeps the customer informed without your office having to chase and field calls all day.

Does Moovi handle quoting and pricing?

Yes. Moovi builds professional quotes on your own templates and your own rates, straight from the survey, so a quote goes out fast and looks the part. Pricing is yours to control rather than forced into a fixed structure. The point is to get an accurate, professional quote to the customer quickly, because in this industry the operator who responds first and best usually wins the job.

Does Moovi handle invoicing and payments?

Yes. Invoicing runs inside the platform off the same job record, so what was surveyed, quoted and delivered is what gets invoiced, without re-keying into a separate system. Customers can see their balance and pay through the portal. It closes the loop between doing the work and getting paid for it.

Does Moovi capture phone calls?

Yes. When a call comes in, Moovi screen-pops the customer's record instantly, so whoever answers already knows who they are talking to and where their job is up to. An AI transcript of every call is then stored on that customer's record. No more trying to remember what was agreed on the phone, or which colleague took the call.

Can I use Moovi in the field, on a phone?

Yes. The survey app, the crew app and the warehouse app are proper mobile apps, used by the surveyor, the crew and the warehouse team on the day, all tied to the same job record as the office. The crew app works fully offline. The office and the field are looking at the same single source of truth.

Does Moovi handle international and overseas removals?

Yes. Moovi Global runs international and overseas moves on the same connected record as your domestic jobs. It covers sea, air and road shipping, automatic customs documentation per corridor, a valued inventory for customs and insurance, multi-currency quoting with frozen exchange rates, a partner app for your destination agents, and an evidenced custody chain from origin to final delivery. The overseas leg is part of the same job, not a separate spreadsheet.

Can Moovi help us win contract work and tenders?

Yes. Moovi Tender reads the full tender, the requirement specification as well as the scored question grid, drafts answers that sell your strengths and cite your real evidence, and assembles the compliance pack for submission. You can also price framework work from your rate card without a survey. Because it is part of the platform that already holds your compliance, fleet and track record, the bid is drawn from your actual operation rather than written from memory.

Does Moovi handle staff, rotas and timesheets?

Yes. Moovi HR runs staff records, licence and certification expiries, rostering, leave, time capture on site or on a device and timesheets on the same record as the jobs. Booking a crew member onto a move writes their shift, approved leave takes them out of the allocator’s pool, and an expired licence class excludes them from vehicles requiring it, telling the operator which licence lapsed and when. Staff get their own view to clock in and out, confirm shifts, request leave and query their timesheets. Moovi HR does not run payroll itself: it produces the approved hours and the pay codes and hands them to your payroll system, with a direct push to your payroll system

Can Moovi show profit per job?

Yes. Because the survey, the signed quote, the loaded inventory and the costs all live on one connected record, Moovi computes a true margin on every job in real time. It surfaces live per-job profitability, the where estimates drifted from reality and where margin is leaking, and bills storage automatically against occupancy. You see the leak per job while there is still time to act, rather than discovering it months later in the accounts.

Integration and data

Does Moovi integrate with my accounting system, like Xero or Sage?

Yes. Xero, QuickBooks and Sage are all live integrations. The relationship is an exchange rather than a replacement: your accountant keeps the tool they know, Moovi keeps the operation, and the operational record and the books agree without anyone typing the same figure twice. Where another integration matters to a customer and is not yet live, we scope it and prioritise it rather than leaving it in a black hole.

Does Moovi work with lead platforms and estate agents?

Yes. Moovi is open to integration, and we work with lead providers and estate agents to feed live quote requests directly into the platform. That means demand can land straight in Moovi alongside your own enquiries and your Move Radar opportunities, all in one inbox rather than scattered across different logins.

Can I get my data out if I decide to leave?

Yes. Your data is yours. Moovi holds and processes it on your behalf and provides standard export formats for all of it, and this is set out contractually in the Data Processing Agreement. Moovi has no interest in trapping anyone. The business depends on customers staying because they want to, not because they cannot get their data back.

Can you import my existing data when I join?

Yes. Moovi can bring your existing data across as part of onboarding. A clean import from a tidy export is straightforward, and historical data ingestion from older or messier systems is available as a defined piece of onboarding work. The goal is that you start on Moovi with your business already in it, not a blank screen.

Onboarding and implementation

How do I get started, and what does onboarding look like?

You start with a demo, then an order form, then a structured onboarding. Moovi onboarding is led by our customer success function, not left to you to figure out alone. It follows a documented methodology: your data brought across, your pricing and templates set up, and your team trained on the parts they will actually use. You are taken from signature to running your business on Moovi, deliberately.

How long does it take to go live?

For most operators, weeks rather than months. Moovi is live with multiple multi-site removals and storage operators across two continents, and the first of them was signed, live and running real jobs inside roughly two weeks. The exact timeline depends on how much historical data you bring across and how many apps and users you are rolling out, but Moovi is designed to get you operational quickly rather than dragging a migration out over a quarter.

Do you migrate my data from my current system?

Yes. Data migration is part of onboarding. A clean export imports straightforwardly, and for older or more complex systems there is a defined historical ingestion service to bring your existing records across properly. You should not have to rebuild your business from scratch to switch.

How are my crew and office staff trained?

Training is delivered to the people who will use each part of the platform: the office team, the surveyors, the crew and the warehouse staff, each on the parts relevant to them. The crew app in particular is built to be simple enough that someone can pick it up on the van without a manual. The aim is adoption, not a certificate. Software only delivers value when the team actually uses it.

Who supports me after go-live?

Moovi's customer success and onboarding is led by Juliette Auger, who built her craft in vertical software at scale. Customers get founder-level care and direct access to the team, not a faceless ticket queue. The relationship does not end at go-live, it starts there, with regular check-ins during implementation and a documented support approach you can hold us to.

Security, infrastructure and trust

Is Moovi secure?

Yes, and security is built in, not bolted on. Moovi runs on tier-one public cloud with the controls expected of a serious production platform: enterprise identity and access management, managed secrets, customer data encrypted in transit and at rest, multi-tenant isolation so one customer can never see another's data, and an audit-grade evidence trail. This is the area Sam spent sixteen years in before building Moovi, selling exactly this kind of infrastructure and cybersecurity into banks and the NHS.

Where is my data hosted, and is it in the UK?

Your data is held in your own region, in data centres run by a tier-one public cloud provider. It stays in the UK, on the same enterprise infrastructure that regulated industries here rely on. For an operator handling customers' home addresses, move dates and payment details, where the data lives and how it is protected matters, and Moovi can answer that question properly.

Is Moovi reliable, and what happens if it goes down?

Moovi is built on enterprise-grade infrastructure designed for high availability, with the monitoring, backup and recovery posture of a platform that businesses run on. This is the difference between an AI feature with a website attached and a hardened platform engineered to stay standing. Moovi was built by someone whose enterprise career was about uptime, continuity and serious systems, because that is what a business betting itself on a platform actually needs.

Is Moovi GDPR compliant, and is there a Data Processing Agreement?

Yes. Moovi is built to be GDPR compliant by design, with documented data processing arrangements, and a Data Processing Agreement formalises the obligations between Moovi and the customer. The cyber security posture is documented and reviewable. These are exactly the questions a serious operator's IT advisor will ask, and Moovi is built to answer them rather than dodge them.

Commercial

How much does Moovi cost?

Moovi's pricing is public and transparent, because that is part of the trust. Moovi Core starts at £180 per month for the main platform. Move Radar, compliance, warehouses and app users are added in clear, published increments as you grow. You are priced in proportion to what you use, not punished with hidden fees or surprise increases.

Is there a long contract?

Moovi's standard subscription is a twelve-month minimum term with a sixty-day notice period. That gives both sides certainty without locking you into a multi-year deal you might regret. Moovi's confidence in the platform is reflected in not needing to trap customers in long contracts to keep them.

Can I start small and add more later?

Yes, and most operators do. You can start on Moovi Core and add Move Radar, compliance, extra warehouses, extra app users and more as the business grows and you see the value. The platform is designed to scale with you, so you are never paying for surface area you are not using yet, and never locked out of capability you grow into.
